Frequently Asked Questions
General
We accept the plans listed above. Tell us your plan when we talk and we'll go over your coverage before your first session.
It's a short phone call with our team. You tell us what's going on and what you're hoping for, we answer your questions, and we match you with a therapist.
Our clinical director, Sara Daly, reviews the information you share during your consultation and helps match you with a clinician who best fits your needs. Drawing on her years of experience in the mental health field and her knowledge of our team, Sara considers each provider’s experience, therapeutic approach, personality, and availability to help you find the right fit. Our goal is to make getting started with therapy feel comfortable, personalized, and straightforward.
Our appointments are $150 if you do not use insurance. We also offer a sliding scale, and we can give you a superbill to send to your insurer. Please reach out if finances are a concern.
We are a completely virtual practice at this time.
We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform called Doxy.me. Your link is always the same unless you change providers. Think of how you go to the same address in person to visit your healthcare provider. You visit the same virtual address here. Your provider's link is provided in your intake confirmation email, intake reminder email and will be sent again 30 minutes before the start of your session. We recommend bookmarking the link for future use.
Our therapists are licensed in New York and New Jersey. It is expected that you are in the state that your provider is licensed in at the time of your session. If you will be out of that state, please discuss with your provider.
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or appointment changes. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a $105 fee. If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, your therapist may waive the fee if you are able to reschedule for another time within the same week and your therapist has availability. We understand that unexpected situations arise, and we encourage you to communicate with your therapist as soon as possible if you need to make a change.
Yes! We work with teens and understand that parents and caregivers can play an important role in supporting their mental health. A caregiver is expected to be present at the beginning of your initial intake. Sessions are tailored to each teen’s needs and may include individual sessions, parent check-ins, or family sessions when appropriate. We prioritize building trust with teens while collaborating with parents to support their growth, with confidentiality and privacy always in mind.
We can't provide emergency care. Call or text 988, text HOME to 741741, or go to your nearest emergency room.
